Architectural Product Design with Nature-Inspired Shaping Approach: Biomimesis

Abstract


Shaping is a communication tool that conveys emotions, thoughts and the accumulation of society. Architecture shapes objects so that people can adapt to the environment. The shaping approaches in architecture have gained a new dimension by the development of information and computer technologies. By this way generative shaping approaches has emerged that are used to produce new and different shapes. Generative shaping approaches have also benefited from nature, visual and functional, which were formerly only aesthetically imitated. In this study, it was aimed to design architectural product by using the principles of biomimesis shaping approach, which is based on the nature and use the logical method of nature. While this design was planned, it was tried to create an organic, flexible, durable, harmonious, complex and functional architectural design product by examining the life principles and organizational schemes of nature.
