Abstract

In this study, the aerodynamic characteristics (Fd, Fl, Cd, Cl) for models in 9 different geometry have been determined experimentally. In order to determine aerodynamic coefficients depending on drag and lift force for each geometry, open circuit and suction type wind tunnel has been used. Wind tunnel test section has 20 cm x 21 cm cross section and 48 cm length, and maximum air flow velocity is 12.5 m/s. The experiments have been performed at different air flow velocity for each model. The variation of drag and lift force with air velocity, and the variation of aerodynamic coefficients with Reynolds number have been investigated for models. The change in geometry that the effects on the drag and lift forces and aerodynamic coefficients have been determined. Because of the lower air flow velocity of the studied wind tunnel, low Reynolds values has been achieved. For this reason, the higher capacity wind tunnel has been needed for obtain stable aerodynamic coefficient values.
