Abstract

Globally, one sector of business that lays strong claims to public relations and corporate social responsibility-human rights, employee rights, stakeholder rights, environmental protection, community relations, transparency, product stewardship, principles and code of practice is the oil and gas sector (Frynas, 2005). The oil and gas transnational corporations are active and play leadership role in integrating social and environmental concerns in their business operations and in their interaction with their stakeholders. This paper examines the roles and oil communities in Niger Delta Region in relation to social responsibility and public relation.
