Emrah Aydemir, Zulfu Genc

Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to design a dynamic puzzle generation algorithm after the questions and answers are recorded via the web pages as well as the history of the puzzle and the types of puzzles. In this study, which puzzles to produce and how they are generated by an algorithm are examined and a picture of how the words are placed on the puzzle diagram is explained through one sample. The rules for generating crossword puzzles in the algorithm are also detailed. Asp.net 4.0 was used to create the algorithm and Firebird 2.5 was used as the database. Approximately 24.95 milliseconds elapsed to place 10 calves on the puzzle diagram, and about 71.63 milliseconds passed when 100 calves were placed on the puzzle diagram. The words to be placed were arranged randomly every time and it was seen that all the words were placed successfully every time the tests were made 10 times with 40 words. It is thought that this study will be useful especially for the purpose of providing learning in some lessons by teachers, as well as in the production of puzzles for entertainment purposes or in newspapers or magazines.
