Abstract

This paper demonstrates implication of carrier based unipolar and bipolar SPWM control schemes to a single phase H-bridge inverter. Regularly sampled unipolar and bipolar SPWM signals are generated in the Matlab/Simulink environment. Obtained SPWM control signals are used as switching schemes of the single phase H-bridge inverter. Various carrier signals are used to generate both types of SPWM signals. FFT analysis, harmonic effects at the output as well as amplitude of current drawn from the source are found and illustrated in the forms of figures and tables for each generated SPWM scheme. The advantages of the suggested study is decrease harmonic effects at the output as well as amplitude of current
