Jordan Journal of Civil Engineering

Jordan Journal of Civil Engineering aims to provide a forum for a broad blend of scientific and technical papers to reflect the evolving needs of the civil engineers. Mainly welcome are contributions dealing with applications of civil engineering principles and theories in all areas of technology: structural analysis and design, soft computing, structural rehabilitations, structural control, smart materials, earthquake engineering, geotechnical engineering and soil/rock mechanics, dam engineering, traffic and transportation engineering, water and environmental engineering, construction management and project planning, surveying and mapping, and infrastructures engineering.

Specific topics: The Journal covers the numerical and analytical methods; constitutive modeling; random vibrations; seismology, ground motion characteristic; fracture mechanics and instabilities; neural networks, expert systems, genetic algorithms, optimization, reliability, and computer-aided engineering; laboratory and field testing; finite element method, software developments; geohazards (earthquakes, landslides, subsidence, etc.); soil and rock-structure interaction; ground improvement and geosynthetics; pavement and infrastructure geomechanics; seepage, consolidation, transport, and coupled problems; geotechnical structures (walls, slopes, dams, footings, piles, tunnels, mines, boreholes, and offshore structures); construction processes; physical properties of engineering materials; structural control and smart systems; historical structures and repairing techniques; dynamic effects of wind, waves and earthquakes; modeling techniques; planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of air, highway, and urban transportation, as well as pipeline facilities, airport and highway pavement maintenance and performance; traffic management technology; construction and operation of pipelines; and economics and environmental aspects of urban transportation systems; design, erection, and safety of structures, ranging from bridges to transmission towers and tall building; surveying and mapping activities encountered in modern practice; planning and management of water resources and GIS; sanitation, environmental biology, microbiology, chemistry; fluid mechanics; hydraulic engineering; design and management of solid waste; methodologies for monitoring, evaluating, expanding, repairing, replacing, financing, or otherwise sustaining the civil infrastructure; issues associated with project management and construction for civil engineer.

The journal is published quarterly and welcomes original research articles, reviews and reports.

Manuscripts for publication must be submitted to jjce@just.edu.jo in MS WORD format with a clear declaration that,

  1. the submission is original,
  2. the submission is not being considered elsewhere,
  3. there is no conflict of interests and,
  4. the authors agree to grant the journal the first editing / publishing rights to the journal.
