Effects of Leadership Style on Organizational Performance in Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria

Abstract


The study examined effects of leadership styles on organizational performance in small and medium scale enterprises in Lagos state.  The main objective was to examine the effect leadership styles on the performance of SMEs in Nigeria.

The study adopted the descriptive survey design using percentages and chi-square (X2) on hypothesis and questions formulated. The findings of the study revealed that good leadership style enhances employee morale and that there is what is known as participatory leadership style of management where both employers and employees take decisions that have positive impact on the growth of the organization and good welfare facilities for the employees.
