Educational System and Capacity Building in Nigeria: A Critical Review

Abstract


This study examined the current state of the Nigerian educational system. The objective of the paper is to x-ray the woes of the Nigerian educational system with a view to suggesting possible antidotes to better the system. The work explore the decay in the Nigerian educational system from the primary to tertiary level and unveiled that the major cause of decay in the educational system is as a result of poor capacity building of teachers, poor training, educational policies and other variables that hinder the smooth progress of our educational system. The paper however, recommend sustainable educational policies that can drive the sector in the 21st century, proper educational infrastructure and better condition of service for actors in the sector.
