Handicraft Industry: A Primary Survey in District Anantnag Kashmir (India)

Abstract


Jummu and Kashmir is known as the home of handicraft. This sector provides satisfactory employment to large artisans. Due to its labour intensive in nature, it plays a dominant role and it is considered as the back bone of rural economy. This sector huge labour force both skilled and unskilled and is the main source of income to various households. From last few years it shows an increasing trend in both in production and employment which boosts our economy.
