Software Reliability Analysis Basing on Objective Optimizing

Cody Pitzen, Mathew Venezia

Abstract

In the testing phrase of software development, the component with low testing costs is given higher prority to be tested. However, this method always have too much extra testing costs. Since both the objective of higher RPPI value and the objective of low costs are simultaneously required, the problem is modeled as a multi-objective optimization problem and resolved by the optimization algorithm such as the linear programming method. An experiment verified that the method proposed is practicable in software reliability analysis.
