Analyzing the Financial Health of Selected IT Companies in India: A Case Study Using the Altman Z-Score Model

Abhijit Roy

Abstract

The Altman Z-Score model is employed to assess the financial health and stability of companies, particularly in the IT sector. In this study, an analysis of the top five companies (TCS, Infosys, HCL Technologies, Wipro, and LTI Mindtree) reveals a consistent demonstration of robust financial performance over time. Through the evaluation of their Altman Z-Scores, it is evident that these companies have maintained secure financial positions, indicating stability and strength. For investors, this signifies a positive outlook, as these firms exhibit sustained financial well-being and are regarded as stable entities in the market.
