Paul D. Zanga O

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyse the influence of corporate governance on the level of transparency of holdings banks operating in the Franc Zone. To conduct this research, a sample of 27 banking groups operating in the Franc Zone between 2007 and 2012 is used, primary and also secondary data are used. Through a panel data regression, this study finds that the size of the bank, the distribution of capital and the Anglo-Saxon cultural values are positively correlated to the level of transparency of multinational banks in the Franc Zone. In contrast, the small size of the board of directors is negatively associated with bank transparency.
