Development of Collaborative Tablecloth Ornaments Pat Kwa China and Gorga Sitagan Batak Toba

Abstract


The development of industrial engineering for tablecloth crafts in collaboration with Chinese Pat Kwa and Gorga Sitagan Batak Toba ornaments is a creative activity for students at Medan State University that produces new crafts. The method applied to the creative activity of developing the dining room tablecloth craft is the explosive method. The stages carried out in the activity of developing creativity in the craft industry are as follows: 1) briefing on general craft design knowledge; 2) concept map creation; 3) shape sketch; 4) the design of the motif and the design of the dining room tablecloth in corel draw; 5) making tablecloths with patchwork techniques; 6) scientific work related to the resulting product. The purpose of developing industrial craft engineering is to increase students' knowledge and skills in the field of art and design, as well as to increase the preservation of regional culture.
